Privacy Policy

DatingBestie helps you understand a specific person by reading material you choose to upload. That material is personal and often about someone else. We treat it accordingly. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, where it goes, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Material you upload — chat screenshots, pasted conversation text, and free-text notes you write about a person.
- What you derive — the AI-built profile, your corrections, saved drafts, and questions you ask.
- Your account — the email address you sign in with.
- Operational logs — standard request logs (timestamps, error traces) needed to run and debug the service. These do not intentionally include the content of your uploads.
Where it goes
We use a small number of processors. We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising or third-party tracking on your uploaded content.
- Anthropic (the AI). Your material is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the analysis. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models and are retained only transiently for abuse monitoring before deletion. We never opt your data into model training.
- Supabase. Your account, profiles, corrections, and uploaded images are stored in our database and private file storage, hosted by Supabase (US region). Images are in a non-public bucket and are only served back to you, after an ownership check.
- Resend. Sends your sign-in emails. Receives your email address only.
- Vercel. Hosts the application and handles requests.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your profiles, uploaded images, corrections, drafts, and account record. Deletion is immediate and cascading; we do not keep backups of deleted accounts beyond any short, automatic infrastructure backup windows our processors maintain, which also expire.
Your choices
- Delete anything, anytime. Remove individual artifacts, personas, or your entire account from inside the app.
- Delete your account from your account page. This erases everything associated with you.
- Don't upload what you shouldn't. Only upload material you have a legitimate reason to analyze. See the Terms.
A note on the people you analyze
DatingBestie is built to help you understand someone, not to surveil or harm them. The person you upload material about is usually not a user and has not consented. Use the tool the way you'd want a tool used about you: to understand, communicate better, and make your own decisions — never to manipulate, stalk, or coerce.
